When you request to sign our manifesto, OpenSciences.org collects the following personal data: Name, email address, country, degree, title, and the primary school or company you are associated with.
When you subscribe to our newsletter, OpenSciences.org collects your name, as supplied by you, and email address.
As you browse OpenSciences.org our servers automatically collect standard Internet log information. We also collect anonymous visitor behavior data based on browser cookies.
How we collect your data
You directly provide OpenSciences.org with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:
- voluntarily request to sign our manifesto, either by email or using our web form

OpenSciences.org collects your data so that we can:

How we store your data
Once we accept your request to become a manifesto signatory, your associated data will be shown publicly on our manifesto. Newsletter subscriber data is kept for the life of your subscription, which ends when you unsubscribe or automatically when your address stops accepting email. This and all other data we collect is stored securely at data centers in California.
